IS&T is pleased to announce the release of SAPgui 7.40 for the Windows and Mac OS platforms. This release is part of MIT’s migration to HANA, SAP’s next-generation in-memory database. HANA will enable improved data analytics, APIs, mobile-first development, and rapid deployment of applications. Even with these added capabilities, the look and feel of SAPgui 7.40 is nearly identical to the earlier version.
The migration to HANA is scheduled for December 14, 2015. Users will need to upgrade to SAPgui 7.40 before that date for continued access to the SAP production environment. SAPgui 7.40 installers are available from the IS&T Software Grid and community members are welcome to upgrade now. Installation instructions for Windows and Mac OS X are available in the Knowledge Base.
IS&T will be working with all departments, labs, and centers to ensure a smooth transition to this new SAPgui. We will begin outreach to existing SAPgui users and local IT administrators via the IS&T Service Desk and Departmental IT Resources Team.
